Later, at Long Beach, we walked the shore as the tide receded, leaving mirrored pools. The boat’s compact size—just 20 meters—meant every detail mattered, and most were flawless: linen napkins, cold towels post-hike, coffee ready at dawn. The only issue? The upper deck sun cover could use a stronger frame—flapped a bit in wind. But that’s nitpicking. This was romance without theatrics—just two people, a boat, and the pulse of the sea.

De White Pearl 02 Phinisi bood precies de juiste mix van privacy, comfort en authenticiteit tijdens onze friends getaway. Met maar twee cabins is het ideaal voor een kleine groep die wat ruimte wil — wij waren met z’n vieren en hadden elk onze eigen master suite met volledige aandacht van de crew. De itinerary was subtiel gechoreografeerd: we begonnen bij Bidadari Beach, waar het turquoise water en de stilte direct het stadsleven wegwaaiden. Vanaf daar gingen we naar Gili Lawa, waar we in het kristalheldere water zwommen met zwermen rainbow wrasse en een manta bijna op armlengte afstand kwam. De captain koos de juiste momenten voor snorkelen en stand-up paddle, zonder dat het ooit druk of georganiseerd voelde. Ik waardeerde de rust aan boord, de lichte houtafwerking en de delicate Balinese touches in de lounge. Het eten was — simpelweg — perfect. Vers gegrilde vis, lokale groenten, en een light coconut curry die ik nog steeds droom. De enige kleine missie? De wifi was inconsistent, maar eerlijk: wie heeft dat nodig in Komodo? Een dag extra zou prachtig zijn geweest; vier dagen is genoeg om te proeven, maar je wilt direct terug voor meer. De drone shot die de crew nam van het schip bij zonsondergang op Long Beach was pure gold — ik heb het als screensaver. Een discreet, elegant netwerk van service, zonder ooit opdringerig te zijn.
