複数のluxury phinisiに乗りましたが、Athira Phinisiはdesignとfunctionの融合が最も優れていました。特にPadar Islandのviewを最大限に活かしたsundeckのlayoutが秀逸。Wae Rebo訪問後は、船上でtraditional healing ritualを体験。spiritualに満ちた時間でした。diningでは、毎晩のmenuが重複せず、地の食材を活かしたcreative cuisine。crewのtrainingレベルも高く、自然なホスピタリティ。Standard Cabinも十分快適でしたが、照明の調整がもう少し細かくできるとベスト。wifiはcommon areaのみで不安定。でも、それがoff-the-gridの本質。もう少し長いitineraryがあれば、さらに心が満たされたはずです。

40歳の誕生日をAthira Phinisiで迎えることにしました。Master Suiteのprivate deckで朝のcoffeeをすすりながら、Wainiluの山並みを眺める時間は、何よりのgift。Sebayur Islandでのマッサージセッションは、海風を感じながらのもので、心身ともにdeep relaxation。diningでは、シェフが私のbirthday cakeをサプライズで用意してくれ、感動しました。tripのハイライトは、Padar Islandのsummitからのpanoramic view。写真では収めきれない美しさです。唯一、船内のreading materialが英語メインなのが少し残念。日本語のガイドブックがあると、もう少し落ち着いて情報を得られます。それでも、birth anniversaryとして選んで間違いありませんでした。

Athira Phinisiは、自然を「見せる」のではなく「体感させる」 yachtです。Wainiluの静けさの中、朝のカヌー体験が最高の始まりでした。水面に映る空と山のコントラストは、まるでアート作品。午後はTaka Makassarで浮かぶようにsnorkeling。透明度が非常に高く、まるで空中を泳いでいるかのよう。dive groupとして参加しましたが、装備のクオリティも高く、ガイドの知識も信頼できるものでした。Master Suiteのバスタブからのviewは、夜の星空と相まってspiritualな体験に。ただ、シャワーの水圧がやや弱め。小さな不満ですが、それすらも船の持つ「素朴な贅沢」と感じられました。

10年間のダイバーとして、さまざまな船に乗ってきたが、Athira Phinisiは別格。6人のグループで利用し、Castle RockとCrystal Rockをメインに潜行。船には専属のdive masterが2名おり、currentの読み方が的確で、安全かつ興奮を両立。エントリーのステップも滑りにくく設計されており、装備が多い時でも安心。タンクは常に満タンで、プレデッキの配置もロジカル。食事はプロテインを多めに調整可能で、体力消耗後の回復に◎。唯一、ナイトダイブが1回だけだったのは物足りない。次回はseasonをずらして、manta pointにも寄ってみたい。全体的に、dive itineraryの計画性に感服。装備のrinseも念入りで、細かい気遣いが信頼感を生んでいる。

友人と2人で訪れたAthira Phinisi。Padar Islandのハイキング後、船上のopen-air bathでワインを飲んだ時間は、まさにadult escape。船内インテリアは和の要素を取り入れたmodern designで、無駄な装飾がなく心地よい。Gili Lawa Lautでのシュノーケルは透明度が9m以上で、ソフトコーラルのdanceが見事だった。スタッフは声をかけるタイミングを心得ており、存在を感じさせないホスピタリティ。朝食のavocado tartineと freshly blended juiceは毎日楽しみだった。ただ、日本語の提供資料が限られているため、地理的な背景をもう少し知りたかった。全体として、過剰なサービスがなく、静かに過ごせる点が最大の魅力。もう少し長いitineraryがあれば、さらに深くKomodoを堪能できたと思う。

複数のphinisiに乗り比べてきましたが、Athira Phinisiはdive groupとしての運航が最も洗練されています。Taka Makassarのdrift diveは、流れが絶妙で、まるで空中を飛んでいるよう。Wainiluのwall diveでは、マンタとごく近距離で遭遇。ガイドのナビゲーションは的確で、安全とexcitementのバランスが取れていました。船内のgear storageも整理されており、準備がスムーズ。Master Suiteのシャワー後、ベッドに横になり、海の音を聞きながら読書するのは至福。ただ、night diveの回数が1回だけだったのは残念。もう1回入れて欲しかった。次回は長めのitineraryで、未開のスポットにも挑戦したい。
