Celebré mis 40 a bordo de Tara by Nusa Coral, y no exagero si digo que fue el mejor birthday trip que podía imaginar. Como viajero solo, valoré especialmente la discreción del crew y el diseño del phinisi: espacios amplios pero íntimos, con ese equilibrio que solo un barco bien pensado logra. Mi cabin, aunque no era el master suite, tenía un baño impecable y ventilación cruzada que hacía innecesario el AC la mayor parte del tiempo. El itinerario tocó Taka Makassar y Crystal Rock —en este último hice mi mejor dive del año, con mantas girando cerca del safety stop. Lo que más me impactó fue la quietud de Bidadari Beach al atardecer, casi sin otros grupos. La comida, muy balanceada: tanto opciones frescas como platos warm cuando el viento subía. Solo un pequeño detalle: el wifi, como era de esperarse, era más bien para emergencias, nada de emails largos. Pero eso, al final, fue parte del detox. El team organizó un drone shot personalizado del snorkeling en Batu Bolong, algo que no esperaba y que ahora es mi fondo de pantalla. Agradezco la atención sin ser asfixiante —ese arte que pocos crew dominan. Si vuelvo a Komodo, solo lo haría con ellos. Tal vez con más días: 4 fue perfect, pero 6 sería ideal para bajar el ritmo aún más.

Daarna aankomen bij Pink Beach voelde als een reward: het zand is werkelijk roze, en de drone shot die de guide nam gaf ons een perspective die je vanaf het strand nooit zou begrijpen. We vlogen vanuit Bali en hadden slechts vier dagen, wat uiteindelijk net iets te kort voelde. Ik zou minstens vijf dagen nemen, misschien zelfs een extra nacht voorbij Taka Makassar, waar de onderwaterwereld nog ongerept is.
